NEWS & STORIES
Executive Summary
RWW Group is proud to announce the launch of our inaugural Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). This document outlines our commitment to fostering meaningful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. Through our structured approach to reconciliation, we aim to create lasting positive impacts while contributing to Australia's journey toward a more equitable and inclusive society.
Introduction
As an organisation committed to social responsibility, RWW Group recognises the importance of actively participating in Australia's reconciliation movement. Our Reflect RAP represents the first formal step in our reconciliation journey—a thoughtful foundation upon which we will build increasingly impactful initiatives in the years ahead.
The Reflect RAP framework, endorsed by Reconciliation Australia, provides organisations like ours with a structured pathway to establish meaningful connections with First Nations peoples, develop cultural competency, and create opportunities that contribute to closing the gap in social and economic outcomes.
Our Approach to Reconciliation
RWW Group's approach to reconciliation is built upon four interconnected pillars:
1. Relationships
We are committed to establishing and nurturing genuine, respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities, and organisations. These relationships will inform our understanding and guide our actions as we progress on our reconciliation journey.
Key initiatives include:
- Identifying and engaging with local Traditional Owners and Custodians
- Actively participating in National Reconciliation Week events
- Creating platforms for dialogue and knowledge sharing
2. Respect
Demonstrating respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and contributions is central to our reconciliation efforts. We recognise that developing cultural competency across our organisation is essential for meaningful engagement.
Key initiatives include:
- Implementing cultural awareness training for all staff
- Observing cultural protocols including Acknowledgement of Country
- Celebrating NAIDOC Week and other significant cultural events
3. Opportunities
RWW Group is dedicated to creating pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to participate in our organisation and supply chain. We recognise that economic empowerment is a crucial element of reconciliation.
Key initiatives include:
- Developing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment strategies
- Establishing procurement targets for Indigenous-owned businesses
- Creating professional development opportunities for First Nations employees
4. Governance
Strong governance mechanisms will ensure accountability and transparency in our reconciliation journey. Our RAP Working Group, comprising representatives from across the organisation, will oversee implementation and reporting.
Key initiatives include:
- Regular progress reporting to Reconciliation Australia
- Integration of RAP commitments into business planning processes
- Development of data collection systems to track and measure impact
Timeline and Implementation
Our Reflect RAP covers the period from April 2025 to April 2026. During this foundational year, we will focus on building internal awareness, establishing key relationships, and developing the capabilities needed to deepen our reconciliation efforts in subsequent years.
Implementation will be guided by clear deliverables, timelines, and assigned responsibilities. Progress will be regularly reviewed by our RAP Working Group and executive leadership team to ensure we remain on track toward meeting our commitments.
Expected Outcomes
Through the implementation of our Reflect RAP, RWW Group expects to achieve:
- Increased organisational understanding of First Nations cultures and histories
- Strengthened relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders
- Enhanced cultural safety within our workplace
- Preliminary frameworks for employment and procurement initiatives
- A solid foundation for our next RAP
Conclusion
RWW Group's Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan represents our commitment to playing an active role in Australia's reconciliation movement. We recognise that meaningful reconciliation requires sustained effort, genuine engagement, and a willingness to listen and learn.
As we embark on this journey, we invite our employees, partners, clients, and communities to join us in building a more inclusive future that acknowledges, respects, and celebrates the world's oldest continuing cultures and their unique contribution to our shared national identity.
